What is UPF?

UPF stands for UV protection factor. The UPF indicates the amount of ultraviolet radiation that a fabric lets through to the skin.

What does the UPF rating mean?

First of all, you should know that UPF is for fabric and SPF is for sunscreen. We award an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) rating during the fabric test.

UPF 50+ is the highest UPF rating that can be achieved, as fabrics with a UPF of 50+ show that only 2% of UV rays can penetrate the garment.

So here is the detail about each level of UPF protection:

UPF Ratings of 15 and 20 offer good levels of sun protection;

UPF Ratings of 25, 30, and 35 offer ideal levels of sun protection;

UPF Ratings of 40, 45, 50, and 50+ provide excellent levels of sun protection.

What are the features of UPF clothing?
