The difference between jersey fabric and interlock fabric

1, The structure difference between the jersey fabric and interlock fabric

Interlock fabric has the same texture on both sides, and jersey fabric has a distinct bottom surface. Generally speaking, jersey fabric is the different on both sides, and the interlock fabric is the same on both sides, and the interlock fabric can have an air layer structure, but the jersey fabric cannot. The weight of the single jersey fabric is about 100 GSM to 250 GSM, and the weight of the interlock is about 150 GSM to 450 GSM. The interlock fabric is heavier than jersey fabric, and of course it is thicker and warmer.

2, The characteristics of the jersey fabric and interlock fabric

Jersey fabric looks like a layer of cloth, but it is also a layer of cloth to the touch. Single jersey fabric is obviously divided into the bottom surfaces. Jersey fabric is generally to be a flat weft fabric. Single jersey fabric is quick-drying, cooling , refreshing, fine and soft, skin-friendly, and breathable.

Interlock fabric is a kind of knitted fabric, not a composite fabric . The bottom and surface of the double knit fabric look the same, so it is called. Single-sided and double-sided are just different weaves that make the effect such that they are not compound. The interlock fabric looks like one layer of cloth, but it actually feels like two layers.  The fabric has a smooth surface, clear texture, fine texture, smooth hand feeling, good extensibility, good moisture absorption, and air permeability; anti-pilling properties reach 3 to 4 grades, with cold and heat balance, moisture absorption, and quick drying.

3, the product usage of jersey and interlock fabric

Single jersey fabric is mostly used in the adult market and are generally suitable for pajamas, base coats, home clothes, or thinner clothing such as shirts and sweatshirts. Interlock fabric is mostly used in the children’s clothing market and generally suitable for T-shirts and sportswear, such as yoga or winter sports pants. Of course, if you want to make it thick, you can directly use brush fabric or terry fabric.
